Pierre-Alain Mettraux

He has been a beekeeper since 2010 and all his hives are located in the village of Avry-sur-Matran. In the meantime, he has also taken over the hives of his father, who had been a beekeeper since the late 1950s, following in his own father's footsteps. He works with two hive systems (Dadant and Bürki). He enjoys looking after his bees, observing them and learning a little more every day about their behaviour and fascinating organisation. His honey reflects the terroir of Avry: a subtle blend of wild flowers, fruit trees, rapeseed, surrounding crops and forests. Each jar tells a story: the story of the bees' work, the seasons and a passion passed down from generation to generation.
